New jewellery investment fund backed by Lady Lloyd Webber
October 2009 - Dazzling Capital Partners will launch a new jewellery investment fund according Melanie Gerlis in the Art Newspaper. The fund is a joint venture between Humphrey Butler, a London based jeweller who formerly worked at Christie, William Sporborg a former tech investor and Christopher Holdsworth who co-founded the city brokerage firm Peel Hunt.
According to the report investors will include Lady Lloyd Webber who will be able to borrow the gems the fund purchases for special occasions. Many art funds have struggled to succeed, but the fund partners believe that antique jewellery could buck this trend given the inherent value of the gems. Dazzling Capital will buy both at auction and through dealers predominantly in the UK. read more
