Contemporary art market feeling the pressure
April 2009 - In the first quarter of 2009, only three pieces of contemporary art sold for over $1 million each, a drop of 92% from a year ago according to Art Price. In an article by Tara Loader Wilkinson of the Wall Street Journal the number of unsold contemporary works at auctions hit a high of 40% in the first quarter. Read more
